Dolphins vs Ravens – CJ’s Take:

Since Miami inserted Jay Ajayi into the starting lineup, they have been on a roll. Of course, they’ve had some luck along the way. With the exception of a 30-15 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, all of these wins have come by a touchdown or less, and you could say they were really biting their nails in the last three games, as first, they needed an interception return for a touchdown by Kiko Alonso to beat San Diego, then two touchdown drives in the final five minutes to defeat the Rams, and were able to hold up Colin Kaepernick two yards short of the goal line, or else they would have seen overtime against the 49ers.

The Ravens have had their share of thrills and spills as well, and they have been less consistent than the Dolphins, but their 6-5 record is good enough for tie in the AFC North with Pittsburgh. They really need a lesson in putting some distance between themselves and opponents, though, so understandably they make potential backers nervous about laying points with them.

Ajayi, who had put together back-to-back 200-yard games, has cooled off a little, although he still averages 5.2 yards per carry. He had only 45 yards against the Niners, which constituted the first time in a ten-game period where San Francisco had not allowed a 100-yard rusher. Does that mean anything? Well, if Miami can’t depend on a staunch rushing attack to provide some balance, that will almost certainly make Ryan Tannehill less effective.

And San Francisco is the league’s worst team against the run, so they should have done better. Baltimore, by contrast, has allowed fewer rushing yards per game than anyone (only 74.9), as well as just 3.4 yards per carry. So what VietBet patrons have to concern themselves with this week is the Dolphins’ injury situation on the offensive line. Last week they were missing three starters, and that has an effect on both the ground and air attacks. This week, they are optimistic about Laremy Tunsil coming back, a little less optimistic about Branden Albert, and consider Mike Pouncey a bit of a long shot. So where does that leave them?

Well, with a degree of uncertainty. But it’s not as if Baltimore is a sure thing on the offensive side. After all, Joe Flacco, the former Super Bowl hero who really cashed in after the Ravens won their world championship, is averaging only 6.4 yards per attempt, and that is well below Tannehill, which would have been a surprise if you were to speak that way at the beginning of the season. Flacco also has a pedestrian ratio of 11 touchdowns to ten interceptions. A bright spot, without a doubt, has been wide receiver Mike Wallace, who has averaged 15.5 yards per catch. Miami is hoping that second-year pro Davante Parker, who has been making great progress, can play despite a back injury.
