Things started out so well for the Kansas City Chiefs this season, as they scored a decisive win over the Houston Texans in their opener. But against the Denver Broncos, they blew a 14-point lead, and the roof has fallen in. A one-point loss to the Chicago Bears last weekend, where they blew another fourteen-point advantage, was made even more bitter by the loss of star running back Jamaal Charles for the rest of the season. Now, with a 1-4 straight-up record, the Chiefs have to figure out a way to get back into the playoff race, and they have a difficult assignment ahead of them, as they travel to face the Minnesota Vikings in a Sunday game that begins at 1 PM ET at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Remember that even after the opening kickoff, Vietbetcustomers can stay in the action, as they try their skill against the NFL football odds with real-time wagering made possible by the state-of-the-art software provided by Live Betting Extra.

Charles was injured early in the second half of last Sunday’s game against the Bears, as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). This was a game the Chiefs led 17-3 at halftime, but they did not score another point the rest of the way. They have now dropped four games in a row, and they will continue ahead with a running back combination of Charcandrick West and Knile Davis and hope for the best.

The Vikings stand at 2-2, and they have to be happy that after sitting out a season, Adrian Peterson looks like he is picking up where he left off. Peterson, who arguably is the NFL’s premier running back, has averaged five yards per carry, with 341 yards in the last three games. But it appears as if they will need more from second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who has thrown only two touchdown passes thus far.

Bridgewater has made some progress, but even with his mobility, he is still susceptible to being sacked, as that has happened 13 times to him this season. The same can be said for Alex Smith, the Kansas City signal-caller, who has been in the league a lot longer and has developed a reputation for holding the ball too long. He does have to legitimate receiving threats, when you consider the talents of wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (483 yards) and tight end Travis Kelce (328 yards), and if his running game isn’t working, he is going to have to rely on those guys.

Interestingly enough, Minnesota has found itself vulnerable against opposition ground attacks. They have allowed 5.7 yards per carry, and Vietbet patrons who saw the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers noticed how they can be dominated on the ground. The Chiefs are by no means dead without Charles in the lineup, but you have to remember that he was a dual threat, not only rushing for 364 yards but catching passes out of the backfield (21 receptions, 177 yards).

We will reiterate something we have said before, which is that Kansas City, which was such a good defensive team in the red zone last season, is dead last in the NFL in that statistic right now, allowing touchdowns 77.8% of the time. That can hurt if you have difficulty trading points. Remember that they had to get seven field goals two weeks ago.
