Browns vs Ravens on TNF November 10th, 2016 – Week 10 NFL Betting Preview

Browns vs Ravens on TNF November 10th, 2016 Week 10 NFL Betting PreviewWell, conventional wisdom would be on the side of the Cleveland Browns winning a game – eventually. Could that occasion be on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens? There is actually some serious thought that this team could go 0-16, and part of the problem is that they haven’t really been able to put four quarters of football together. Last week, they didn’t even play ONE quarter, as they were outgained 422-222 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Browns-Ravens confrontation will take place at 8:30 PM ET M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, and VietBet customers have the opportunity, even after the opening kickoff, to place their wagers in real time with the help of Live Betting Ultra.

Browns vs Ravens – CJ’s Take:

It’s very hard to win when you can’t run the ball. And both of these teams have experienced that. Cleveland was one of the top rushing teams in the NFL in the early going, but Isaiah Crowell has gone into a slump. He had only four yards on six carries last Sunday, and they simply need for him to be able to help them move the chains. Of course, the problem is that Cody Kessler doesn’t really stretch defenses all that well, so defenders get to stay closer to the line of scrimmage.

As far as the Ravens are concerned, their ground attack has been inconsistent all season. Terrance West is the featured back, and he has run for only 31 yards over the last two games. Joe Flacco, the former Super Bowl hero, should be able to do better with the receivers he has, but they haven’t all been healthy at the same time. Steve Smith is now back, in his quest for 1000 receptions, and Mike Wallace is indeed supplying a big-play element, as he a caught a 95-yard touchdown pass from Flacco against Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Cleveland coach Hue Jackson, in his first season at the helm, has searched and low for answers, but it’s very tough to get some continuity going if you have “musical chairs” going at the quarterback position. In Jackson’s case, it was not his decision, but was dictated by all the injuries these guys have had. He would like to settle on Kessler, because he would like to think he has a candidate to be the quarterback of the future. So he is giving him every opportunity possible. The USC grad completed 19 of his 27 passes last week, but by and large he is throwing short routes. It should help that first-round draft pick Corey Coleman, who was hurt early, is now back in the lineup. And the Browns have experienced a pleasant surprise with the emergence of Terrelle Pryor, formerly a starting quarterback with the Oakland Raiders, who has made the conversion to the wide receiver spot and has been rather productive.

VietBet patrons obviously know that the Browns are 0-9 on the season, but the Ravens were in a four-game losing streak before they encountered Ben Roethlisberger, who may have been coming back a little too early from his injury. They were fortunate enough to get off to a 21-0 lead and hold off the Steelers in the end. But Flacco is sitting with the second-worst quarterback rating of all starting signal-callers in the league, and there is not a whole lot of evidence to suggest that the firing of Mark Trestman and the hiring of Marty Mournhinweg as offensive coordinator has really produced an upgrade.

Next up for both teams:

  • Cleveland home to Pittsburgh Sunday, November 20
  • Baltimore at Dallas Sunday, November 20
