Bills vs Packers Odds and Betting Preview

Bills vs Packers Odds 2018 Week 4 NFL Betting PreviewWell, the Buffalo Bills pulled off perhaps the biggest surprise we have seen in the NFL season thus far when they went to Minnesota as 17-point underdogs and opened up a can of whoop-ass on the Vikings, grinding them down to the tune of 27-6. Would it be an even bigger surprise if they made it two in a row at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers? This game is slated to get underway at 1 PM ET and will be televised by CBS.

Bills vs Packers Odds – CJ’s Take

The Bills didn’t just beat Minnesota – they thoroughly dominated them right from the beginning. Sure, the teams were tied up when it came to net yardage, but the Vikes didn’t even score until late in the fourth quarter. Their high-priced quarterback, Kirk Cousins, threw the ball 55 times but had only 296 yards to show for it, and he was sacked four times. Minnesota also committed three turnovers that helped to kill them.

Maybe the Bills also responded to new leadership on the field. They have to deal with Nathan Peterman in a woeful opener, and quickly turned to Josh Allen, the first-round draft pick out of Wyoming. Allen did not blow anyone’s doors off with his numbers (just 196 yards), but he gave the team a little more confidence. How much of a carry-over will that have in Green Bay?

The Packers came out without a lot of spirit in last Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins, and they were down 21-3 in the second quarter. There was no miracle comeback for Aaron Rodgers in this one, although he did complete 27 of 44 passes. Green Bay was playing from behind most of the way, and consequently they did not get too much balance out of the offense. That game followed a 29-29 tie against Minnesota, and Rodgers is generally taking it easy during the week in practice because of his knee injury. It has been suggested that this has a negative effect on the timing of the offense.

The Bills have a rough assignment – proving that they are close to being as good as they looked last week. Coming into the season, there was a suspicion hanging over them, because they have lost some personnel, namely quarterback Tyrod Taylor, but they had made the playoffs the year before.

What they have to do here is straighten themselves up as far as pass protection is concerned. We are three games into the season and Buffalo’s offensive line has given up 14 sacks. The Packers will be coming, presumably; Clay Matthews is obviously been at the center of controversy of late because of roughing-the-passer penalties that have been called against him in each of the first three weeks. Then, of course, he made the claim that the league was “getting soft.”

Reportedly, Rodgers practiced with the Packers on Thursday, and maybe we get the benefit of a little value in the line because of the Bills’ result last week. In a measured recommendation, we will lay the points.
