On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers can achieve something that, believe it or not, has been rather rare for them this season. As they face the Colorado Rockies, they can actually execute a three-game sweep of a series at home. We probably would not have believed it if you asked us at the beginning of the season, but the team with the highest payroll in baseball has one of the worst home records in the game.
In fact, only the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are mired in last place in the National League West (well, only percentage points behind the San Diego Padres) have played worse at home in the NL. Remember, it’s a long season, and you want to preserve guys, although Dodger backers would obviously like to see their team get closer to the .500 mark on the home field.
