Solomon’s struggles in last year’s encounter were nothing compared to the difficulties experienced by UCLA’s freshman quarterback, Josh Rosen, as the Bruins failed to cover as a 17-point favorite in the football pointspread against BYU. The “Chosen” one had just eleven completions in 23 attempts and was intercepted three times in the first half. Fortunately UCLA was able to compensate for that with 296 rushing yards, including 219 from Paul Perkins, who just might be the best running back in the Pac-12. And they got a big interception near the end from another NFL prospect, Myles Jack.
Arizona has been pretty dominant on the ground themselves, averaging 7.9 yards a pop, although it has admittedly come against lesser lights.
