Broncos vs Bears – Week 11 NFL Betting Preview

Osweiler Steps in For Broncos Against Bears

By Charles Jay

Peyton Manning has been through a season of struggle with the Denver Broncos, and the nadir was last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, when he threw for just 35 yards and was intercepted four times in a 29-13 loss. As it turns out, Manning has what has been described is a partially torn plantar fascia, and he will sit out Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, opening the door for Brock Osweiler to make the first start of his NFL career. This game is scheduled to begin at 1 PM ET at Soldier Field, and Vietbet customers can stay in the action even after the opening whistle blows by placing wagers through the state-of-the-art software of Live Betting Extra.

Manning is having a nightmarish season, even though the Broncos are 7-2 straight-up (and 5-4 ATS, we might add). He has only nine touchdown passes with 17 interceptions. That’s more than any other quarterback in the National Football League. So the narrative is that he has not been able to plant his foot all that well, and that comes in addition to other injuries, including the shoulder and rib cage. Coach Gary Kubiak has said that he is sorry that even started Manning last week, as he really was not in the right kind of shape to play.

Thus Manning will miss the reunion with former head coach John Fox and former offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who moved over to the Chicago Bears’ side when Fox was fired immediately after the playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts last season. Fox and Gase, of course, are well aware of Oseiler’s strengths and weaknesses, so this should be an interesting matchup.

With Osweiler, the 6-8 Arizona State product at the controls, Denver will have to have a better running game that it has shown this season. But Ronnie Hillman is capable of that kind of yeoman work, getting his average up to 4.1 yards per carry. This is the kind of offense Kubiak initially envisioned, with the running game dominating things. Let’s see if the Broncos can really make that happen.

Remember that Denver still has that defense, and it has allowed only 5.3 yards per passing attempt. That will make things difficult for Jay Cutler, although he has shown some improvement under the new regime. As Vietbet patrons probably know, the familiarity between the Chicago coaching staff and the Denver personnel should play something of a factor here, especially without the presence of Manning. By the way, Aqib Talib, the Pro Bowl cornerback for Denver, is back after serving his one-game suspension, although DeMarcus Ware, who has 6.5 sacks on the season, will be missing the game with a back injury.

Whether Matt Forte will play for the Bears or not is unknown. He has sat out the last two games, and there is some scheduling consideration, as Chicago has to go to Green Bay to play on Thanksgiving.
