The Cleveland Browns Try to Make Things Come Together Against the Oakland Raiders

By Charles Jay

The Oakland Raiders have a new (albeit interim) head coach, but they are experiencing the same old story this season – they can’t seem to win a game. And the season is starting to slip away from them. On Sunday they will be in action looking for that elusive “W” and to beat the NFL odds as they take on the Cleveland Browns in a game that is scheduled to kick off at 4:25 PM ET at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.

The Browns are coming off what was a rare occurrence for them – a day of genuine underachievement. We say that because when you intercept the rookie quarterback (Blake Bortles) three times and still lose by a silly 24-6 margin to a previously winless team (Jacksonville), after great efforts in all of your other games, that is vastly underachieving.

The Raiders did indeed play with a lot of spirit after firing coach Dennis Allen, although we’re not sure there is a correlation between those two events,. They really had the San Diego Chargers on the ropes a couple of weeks ago but lost by a 31-28 score, then fell, again at home, to the Arizona Cardinals (24-13). This is really their first game as the true visitor since a visit to Gillette Stadium and the Patriots in the seasons third game.

These coaches are familiar with each other, in the sense that they both worked on the staff of the New York Jets at the same time. Tony Sparano of the Raiders and Mike Pettine of the Browns were the offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively, just two seasons ago. So they put their units up against each other every day in practice.

If Vietbet customers want to play the numbers a little, they will see that the Browns have scored fewer than 21 points only last week, while the Raiders have exceed 14 points only once – this was the product of four touchdown passes on the part of Derek Carr, the rookie out of Fresno State who has done a rather commendable job, though he can’t really get the football down the field too far on a consistent basis.

Last week’s game notwithstanding, Pettine has been able to get a level of effort out of his Browns that has been a surprise to many analysts of the NFL odds. They have been very good about not turning the ball over; in fact, going into last weekend they only had one TO. But then they gave it away a couple of times near the end and that is what created the appearance of a lopsided score. When your quarterback (Brian Hoyer) goes just 16 of 41, you are not going to be able to cash in on the opportunities that the other team is leaving, and that was the case against the Jags, who even lost a few defensive starters in the contest. In their pursuit of beating the NFL odds, it does not help that Cleveland has lost the guy who anchored the offensive line. Alex Mack, a center who had never missed a snap in his career, is going to miss the rest of the season, and it simply takes some time to get used to working with a new man at that position.

It makes sense to go with the pros that have more wagering options than anyone else, AND can speak your language at the same time. That’s Vietbet !
