Lions Saints Odds October 15th, 2017 2017 Week 6 NFL BettingThe Detroit Lions had better get things straightened out with their offensive line, because they look like a disaster area right now, unable to protect their quarterback. Matthew Stafford is banged-up, and he may be in a position where he’ll need to trade points with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, when these teams get together 1 PM ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. This will be televised by the Fox Network on a regional basis, and if you are a VietBet customer, you can get involved with real-time wagering, against dynamic odds, using the state-of-the-art software provided through Live Betting Ultra.

Lions Saints Odds – Week 6 NFL Betting Preview

Detroit won its first two games by double digits and probably should be undefeated through the first four games, except that they got a tough break from the officials against Atlanta. Last week, they lost 27-24 to the Carolina Panthers, bringing their record to 3-2 straight-up and against the football pointspread.

New Orleans is coming off a bye week because they played in London the week before. They were victimized by a great performance by Sam Bradford in the season opener and Tom Brady the week after losing the first two games, but the defense has come on strong. The Saints have held the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins to a combined 13 points – away from home – and this is evoking some memories of the preseason when they were providing a lot of hope behind coordinator Dennis Allen. Now the Saints are 2-2, both straight up and against the spread.

Detroit has given up twelve sacks over the last two games, and it would really help if they can get a consistent running game. But this seems to be the thing that we say every week. Going into the season, they were hoping to get at least an average of 4.2 yards per carry, and they are well below that (3.5). Stafford has thrown only one interception in 173 attempts, but he’s bothered by injuries to his ankle and thigh, and who knows whether that might mitigate the effects he could have against New Orleans stop unit.

Detroit has played the Saints in each of the last three seasons, winning by scores of 24-23, 35-27 and 28-13.

The Lions have scored 47 points off turnovers, but if the Saints continue with the pattern they have been showing, they’re not going to give Detroit much of an opportunity to capitalize. VietBet patrons may not realize that New Orleans is just the third team in the NFL since 1933 to have gone through its first four games without turning the ball over. Drew Brees is 69% accurate, and unlike Stafford, he has not been harassed by opposition pass rushes, being sacked only four times.

In these last two games, the Saints have allowed only 474 yards of total offense, and that has been against a couple of capable quarterbacks in Cam Newton and Jay Cutler. But we know this has been a long-time bugaboo for New Orleans.

Adrian Peterson has not had much of an effect, caring 27 times for 81 yards, but once again, Brees has been able to make the most of the receivers he’s got available. However, there is some movement on the offensive line, as Zach Strief, the right tackle suffered a knee injury and is on injured reserve. The return of Terron Armistead, then, is timely, as Hill take over at left tackle, with rookie Ryan Ramczyk moving over to the right side.
